Missed lessons & make-ups

Notify an absence at least two hours before class to qualify for a make-up token. Eligible tokens are generated after the missed class, last 12 months, and have no holding limit.

  • Record absences in your existing student account under Future Absences. Make-up bookings are managed under Makeups.
  • Make-up places become available one day ahead. An active enrolment is required to use a token for a class; holiday enrolments remain active until the next holiday period starts.
  • Tokens cannot be refunded, credited or transferred between students. A booked make-up cannot itself be cancelled or rescheduled.
  • A token can instead cover a Mont Albert North family swim for two adults and up to three children during public swimming. This does not require an active enrolment.
  • Private students may ask a manager about future vacancies or converting one private token into two group-class tokens.
  • Contact reception to arrange a private make-up for multiple students together. If a shared private lesson ran while one student was absent, that student’s token can cover a group make-up or family swim.

Assessments & progression

Teachers assess progress approximately every four to six weeks. Students move up when they demonstrate the confidence and competence required for the next level.

A review early in the term establishes learning goals. Later evaluations record key skills on a five-star scale; mastering all key skills indicates readiness to progress.

Understanding skill evaluations

RatingProgress
1 starSkill introduced
2 starsFirst stage of progress
3 starsSecond stage of progress
4 starsThird stage of progress
5 starsSkill mastered
  • Evaluations can be reviewed in the existing parent account under the student’s Evaluations section.
  • The general guide is 15–20 lesson hours per level, but each swimmer progresses differently.
  • Regular attendance, practice and encouragement help consolidate skills. Families can share notes with teachers or ask about additional support.

Childcare during lessons

The Mont Albert North crèche supports families using the centre while another child attends a lesson. It caters for children from six weeks to preschool age.

Qualified early-childhood educators provide play, craft and age-appropriate learning activities. Hours are 9am–12 noon on weekdays, exclusively for people using the centre’s facilities.

This service is available at Mont Albert North only. Ask reception about a place before your visit.

2026 lesson prices

Weekly enrolments use four-lesson billing. The initial $150 Swim Starter covers lessons before the first debit; it is non-refundable but transferable. Notify changes at least one day before the debit date. Paid monthly enrolments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
