BrainWave Babies: what to expect

At both centres, a teacher guides activities, songs and supported movement. Sessions last 30 minutes, with flexibility for babies who tire earlier. Book individually, with gaps or consecutive visits, up to one month ahead.

One adult joins each baby. The assisting person must be at least 16 and comfortable supporting the baby in chest-deep water.

  • Bring a swim nappy, towel and wet-clothes bag; the adult needs swimwear and a towel.
  • Leave the water when the session finishes. Park prams against a wall to keep pathways clear.
  • Paid sessions missed with at least two hours’ notice can qualify for make-up tokens; complimentary sessions do not.
  • At around six to seven months, move into the regular weekly Bubs program.

How the $150 Swim Starter works

The initial deposit covers regular term lessons before your first monthly debit. Continue and the scheduled debit follows; if you decide not to continue, cancel before it occurs. The offer does not cover holiday intensives.

The deposit is non-refundable but transferable. Ask reception to confirm your first debit date and what the deposit covers for your chosen start date.

  • Choose Mont Albert North, Ringwood or indicate that either centre would suit.
  • Include the student’s age, swimming experience or known level, and preferred days and times.
  • State whether you want to start now or enquire about a future term.

2nd Lap: eligibility & lesson choices

Scholarships support learners aged 12 through adulthood towards swimming across the pool independently. Under-16 applicants should be Level 2 High or below; adult applicants should be Adult Level 2 or below.

Choose weekly private tuition, a group of up to six, or both. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes, with progress updates along the way. Places are limited.

Describe the learner’s experience honestly: confidence underwater, ability to travel 3, 10 or 20 metres, and familiarity with freestyle, backstroke or survival strokes. It is fine to say that a skill is unfamiliar or uncertain.

Add your preferred centre, contact details and interest in group, private or combined lessons.

Ask about a 2nd Lap Scholarship

Adult lessons: from beginner to lap swimmer

Adult programs start at 16, with no upper age limit for people able to enter and exit the pool independently. Group and private options include daytime and after-work sessions outside busy children’s lesson periods.
