Before the program

Coordinators confirm teacher numbers, pool layout, additional support and curriculum preferences by email. Parent packs can support advance grouping, or students can be assessed on day one.

During the program

An on-deck supervisor adjusts ability groups. Qualified teachers hold required certifications and working-with-children checks. Optional activities include distance swims, relays, games and survival skills, depending on the group.

Progress & certificates

Assessments record developing and mastered skills. Five-star certificates help families understand progress; stored results support grouping in later years. Eligible students can receive the Victorian Premier’s Swimming Certificate. Families and teachers can provide feedback.

Work out an example budget

Calculate one session as: number of teachers × teacher fee, plus number of students × student fee. Multiply by the number of sessions for the tuition and entry total.

For example, 56 students and 7 swimming teachers in a 30-minute session gives the calculation below. The group size is an illustration for budgeting, not a prescribed supervision ratio.

Worked example using the 30-minute rates

ItemCalculationAmount
Teachers7 × $44.40$310.80
Students56 × $7.45$417.20
One session$310.80 + $417.20$728.00
Per student, per session$728.00 ÷ 56$13.00
Five sessions$728.00 × 5$3,640.00

Illustrative calculation only; it excludes transport and other school excursion costs. Confirm teacher numbers, session count and the final quote with the coordinator.
